And oh, the stamps! So wonderful, and new to me. On the left: князь Владимир, Vladimir the Great, Prince of Novgorod and Grand Prince of Kiev from 960 to 1015. He was baptized into the Christian (Orthodox) faith, and later forced the population of Kiev to be baptized too, all this is the theme of the stamp. He is a very important figure in Russia and Ukraine.
I'm probably going to far with the following speculation, since I know too little about the history of Russia. But, could this stamp, issued in 2015, a way from Russia to portray as Russian a historical figure that is also revered in the Ukraine? And since that is so, why not consider Ukraine a part of Russia, anyway?
